About the project
From Program Info
Increasing diversity in European populations is creating an urgent need for the exchange of expertise, information and good practices on health care for migrants and minorities. This project aims to give professionals, policy makers, researchers, educators and migrant and minority groups easy access to a dynamically evolving body of knowledge and a virtual network of expertise. It will stimulate the formation of scientific and professional communities concerned with migrant and minority health. In 16 countries, the project will set up and publicise a ‘wiki’ (an interactive web site) in the local language. The wikis will contain information about individuals, organisations and resources dealing with migrant and minority health. They will be linked to each other and to a central (English-language) site. Meetings will be organised at national and European level to bring together representatives of the stakeholders. The continuation of the wikis after the end of the project will be ensured.
The project is supported by the EC's Directorate-General Health and Consumer Protection (DG SANCO) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
